Tranquillity breeds strength. Strength that comes from your centre - the belly: this is one of the principles of Buddhist philosophy. The Buddha bear is a part of this tradition. He is hand crafted from golden mohair and his facial expression, posture and aura were inspired by classic Buddha figures. This very special bear is five-way jointed and his legs are slightly bent, which enable him to sit in the lotus position in which energy can flow freely. His belly, which according Buddhist philosophy constitutes the main focus, is somewhat larger; his nose, mouth and claws are embroidered with the finest gold-coloured thread. The corners of the bear's black eyes are hand-painted in order to give his divine expression depth and dignity.
